University College Dublin / Science Center Masterplan
Dublin, Ireland
Ireland’s preeminent public school, founded in 1908, established its expansive, park-like Belfield campus in the 1950s. To secure the future of research and education, the ambitious Science Centre Master Plan is now transforming the existing facility into a world-class, interactive hub. Conducted by HGA and RKD Architects, Dublin, the plan focuses on several key strategic objectives: creating an internal organization based on shared initiatives and platforms; establishing a highly interactive, day-to-day science community; utilizing architectural design to enhance connectivity, transparency, and resource sharing; and providing flexible facilities capable of accommodating future academic growth.
